Although the blade of the doctor blade will continue to wear during the printing process, the contact area will remain unchanged throughout the length of the doctor blade, so the tone of the image will not change after printing. Since the contact area of ​​the cross-sectional doctor blade and the printing cylinder is always kept constant, it can also ensure that the doctor blade pressure is constant. At the same time, the pressure of the squeegee can be kept to a minimum, which reduces the wear of the squeegee and extends the service life of the plate cylinder.
Ordinary pointed squeegee blades have a limited service life. Since ordinary squeegee blades are ground in advance, only the edge of the blade can contact the plate cylinder. With the gradual wear of the doctor blade, the cross-sectional area of ​​the contact part also continues to increase, so that it is very unfavorable for the doctor blade, which will cause the change of the image tone value after printing. In this case, in order to ensure the consistency of the printed matter, it is necessary to constantly adjust the squeegee blade, which will also result in a waste of material and will take a certain amount of time.
When printing granular inks such as metallic ink and pearlescent ink on cigarette packs, in order to improve the durability, a bladeless blade can be used.
