PMMA-based film for in-mold decoration

German material manufacturer Degussa has introduced a new type of film based on polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) and polybutyl acrylate (PBA) films, which has been developed for in-mold decoration applications. In fact, the film called Plexiglas Film 99524 was introduced as suitable for decorative and protective surfaces of injection molded parts, such as automotive parts, electrical appliances or furniture. It provides a high degree of transparency and a high gloss surface. And it also has high chemical and anti-wear properties. Plexiglas Film 99524 can be thermoformed at 160-170°C and can be printed in a variety of processes.
