Photoshop CS Application Tips Calligraphy Works Made Spring Festival

At the time of the Chinese New Year, every household should post Spring Festival couplets, and even many websites must be “posted”. In today's example, we will introduce how to use Photoshop CS to make existing calligraphic works Spring Festival, or as a desktop, or put on the Internet and enjoy with the netizens.

1. First of all, the existing calligraphy works are to be scanned with a scanner or digital camera and stored in a computer. Then run Photoshop CS to open the calligraphy work, as shown in Figure 1 (left). We found that the background of the paper in the work is not beautiful, but also affect the work behind. In the following we select the "Image → Adjust → Brightness / Contrast" menu command, adjust the image, increase the contrast between the background and the text, and Remove the wrinkles of the paper, as shown in Figure 1.

2. Find a framed Spring Festival couplet on the Internet or in the material library. Overwrite the original text with its background color. Then import our calligraphy works and adjust the “Edit → Free Transform” menu command to the appropriate size. In the Layers palette, the layer blending mode is set to Multiply, as shown in Figure 2. At this point, you will find that the original white background in the calligraphy works has disappeared, which will greatly reduce the workload of removing the white background.

3. If someone likes the Spring Festival couplets with gold effect, you can select the “magic wand” tool, set a suitable size tolerance value in the property bar, click the white background of the calligraphy work, and then select “select → select similar” menu command, then All white in the image is selected and deleted, and then select "Image → Adjustment → Hue / Saturation" menu command. In the "Hue / Saturation" dialog box, check the "Coloring" check box, adjust the text to gold, Increase the saturation and brightness to complete the gold effect, as shown in Figure 3.
