1. Performance level: Steel drums are classified into I, II and III according to their performance. Which type of steel drum is required for the crimping of the steel drum is mainly based on which type of cargo is to be contained in the steel drum, and the steel drum crimping type is selected from the viewpoint of ensuring that the steel drum is free from leakage and ensuring safety in transportation and storage. Steel drums are required to have strong impact resistance and good sealing when they are loaded with dangerous goods. It is necessary to ensure that the steel drums meet the test strength indexes of dangerous goods packaging. When the steel drum is used for general cargo, the type of crimping should be properly selected, that is, the quality of the steel drum should be ensured to avoid excessive packaging performance.
The crimping filling seal packing is to ensure the sealing of the steel drum. Various types of steel drums contain different contents in the state of liquid, solid, paste and the like. Different contents have different requirements for the degree of crimp sealing. Whether the crimping is filled with the sealing packing can be determined according to the state and characteristics of the contents of the steel drum. In addition, the sealing packing must also be compatible with the contents, otherwise a reaction may occur to leak or contaminate the contents.

6. Type of barrel mouth: The top of the barrel should be closed according to the opening type. The purpose of the closure on the top of the bucket is to facilitate opening, convenient use, and to ensure that the contents do not leak. Various types of steel drums differ depending on the opening of the closure. The types of closures used in steel drums of the same opening are also different. Common barrel styles are as follows:

(1) Small opening steel drums can be used in one of the following types:

a, a spiral injection port closure;

b. One spiral inlet and one vent closure.

The venting port is a function of the steel drum to ventilate when it is filled or discharged, so that the pressure inside and outside the barrel is uniform. However, some users in China do not require a venting closure for steel drums. The reason is that one more venting closure has a leakage factor and increases the cost of the steel drum. This part of the user requires only one bet for the steel drum. The inlet closure is all right. Which type is adopted can be determined by the manufacturer and the user.

(2) The middle open steel drum can be used in one of the following types:

a, rolling type closure. It is characterized by easy opening and closing, but the sealing performance is general. It is mainly used for goods such as grease, such as grease, which are not required for smearing, powder and sealing.

b. Bolt-type tight sealer;

c. Spiral top pressure type closure. It is connected by a triangular outer part and a triangular ring, and the triangular center is sealed by a bolt-type pressure sealer cover.

The latter two types of sealers have good sealing performance and are often used to hold goods requiring strong sealing performance. Which kind of closure is used in the middle open barrel, the manufacturer and the user can choose according to the sealing performance requirements of the contents for the steel drum.

(3) The full-opening bucket can be used in one of the following types:

a, bolt type closed hoop;

b. Lever type closed hoop.

The lid of the fully open steel drum is also the top of the barrel of the steel drum and is an integral part of the steel drum. The closure is actually a closed hoop that connects the lid to the barrel. The lever type closed hoop is more complicated than the bolt type closed hoop but is convenient to use. The bolt type closed hoop is relatively strong. The manufacturer can determine the type of closed hoop according to user requirements.

7. Surface coating: The standard requires that the inner and outer surfaces of the steel drum be coated with a protective layer as needed. The outer surface of the steel drum is coated with a protective layer to protect the surface of the steel drum from corrosion, improve the durability of the steel drum and make the outer surface of the steel drum beautiful. The inner surface of the steel drum is coated with a protective layer so that the contents are not directly in contact with the inner surface of the steel drum so as not to cause chemical and quality changes in the contents. Especially for steel drums containing food, the inner surface is coated with a protective layer to protect the contents from direct contact with the inner surface of the steel drum, and does not affect the food hygiene standards of the contents. The outer surface of the steel drum should generally be coated with a protective layer. However, when the user requests that the protective layer or the steel drum contents are not required to be coated, the outer surface of the steel drum may not be coated with a protective layer. Whether or not the inner surface of the steel drum is coated with a protective layer is determined according to the characteristics of the contents and the user's requirements.
