This specification applies to furniture finished products sold and produced in Shenzhen Special Economic Zone and used furniture raw and auxiliary materials, among which finished furniture products include wooden furniture, metal furniture (only applicable to metal furniture containing wood materials, soft-covering materials), and soft furniture. , Other types of furniture can refer to the implementation; furniture raw and auxiliary materials, including adhesives, wood coatings, wood materials, textile fabrics, leather, except for other types of furniture, raw and auxiliary materials. This technical specification will be implemented on January 1, 2017. The implementation of the standard is divided into two phases, with different standards and different standards.
The first phase of the implementation of the standard is from the date of release of the standard (January 1, 2017) to the end of April 2017 as a transitional period, approximately six months or so, solvent-based paints, adhesives can also be used. The requirements for hazardous substances in the transitional period refer to the requirements of the adhesive SZJG 48-2014 "Restrictions on Building Decoration Materials and Adhesives Hazardous Substances". Wood coatings refer to the limited requirements for environmental labeling product standards.
The second phase is from May 1, 2017, with reference to the national mandatory standards for waterborne wood coatings, and the formal implementation of "prohibition of the use of solvent-based coatings." It is worth noting that there is no transition period for wood materials, leather, and textile fabrics, and new standards will be implemented starting from January 1, 2017. 
The introduction of more stringent furniture standards has a more or less relationship with the control of air quality. On July 1, 2015, Beijing Municipality officially implemented the “Emission Standard of Air Pollutants for Wood Furniture Manufacturing Industry†for wooden furniture manufacturing industry. The implementation of this standard will start on December 31, 2016 and the emission limits for period I will be enforced. From January 1, 2017, the emission limits for period II will be implemented.
