Cast PP Film Line with 4.6m Long Slot Die

In May of this year, the third PP film production line with a 4.6-meter wide seam die was produced in China by Reifenhout.

In the East Asian market, cast film lines with a width of 4.5-5 meters are used in food packaging with a variety of needs.

Compared with the general film production line width of 2-3 meters, this larger production line has some special requirements in engineering and processing technology.

Reifenhauser has learned many years of experience in the manufacturing technology of cast film production lines and designed a three-layer PP film production line with a width of 4.8 meters to ensure the quality of the film. In 2004 and this year, three wide-width production lines have been sent to provinces in the north and southwest of China, which meet all the needs of the film production line.

The three-layer cast PP film line has three extruders:

â–  The diameter of one extruder screw is 180mm, and the pitch diameter ratio is 30.
â–  Two co-extruders have a screw diameter of 90 mm and a pitch diameter ratio of 30.

Because of the hanger-type flow path, the slot die with a width of 4600 mm has the most suitable melt flow and automatic control of film thickness.

With the patented coextrusion adapter REIcofeed, a three-layer PP film with a thickness of 20 to 120 microns can be produced.

The main chill roll width of the casting device is 800 or 1000 mm, and the height can be adjusted and moved in the operation direction to ensure that the roll surface temperature distribution (±1° C.) is excellent in film quality.

Film thickness gauges, oscillators, pre-heaters and post-cooling rollers are all integrated into the traction device. The last step is to install the take-up device.

The output of this line can reach 1,450 kg/h at a speed of 230 m/min. The production line is operated by a centrally placed panel near the casting device and can be adjusted in height and adjusted from the side as required.

Because when the cast film is produced, the net width of the coiler can reach 300-400 mm, which is smaller than the width of the lip, so a large proportion of the outer edge of the cast film can be cut in the shredder and sent back The main extruder.

Using locally produced Asian resins, the three-layer film is extruded and has the necessary optical and mechanical properties to meet the evolving needs of the Chinese food packaging industry.

The application of PP film in the East Asian market includes metallized films for food packaging, eye-catching films, and in-bag cooking films.

Chinese film makers have confirmed that these extremely wide cast film lines have met all their technical expectations.
