Generally, text appearing in image processing software, RIP is usually processed as an image when output, and the probability of a problem is much smaller. However, the text used in the typesetting software needs to be processed by the RIP when it is output. The fonts installed in the RIP match, this is prone to problems such as text jumps, skipping, discoloration, and garbled characters.

The use of text in typesetting software requires that the fonts first match the fonts installed in the RIP in the photocopying system so that there is no problem with the output. If you are exporting and use a font that may not be available in RIP in the production document, you need to copy all the fonts, including the Postscript font, to the output center when copying the document to the output center.

To prevent text from jumping, try not to use the space bar to adjust the position of the text when creating a document. When you need to adjust the position of text, you can use the following methods:

1. If you need to use spaces to break the text, redefine the lower text to a text box and continue typing. This method can be used in Freehand, Pagemaker software.
2. You can use the indentation and positioning methods to define the position of the text to avoid using spaces. This method is more suitable for the segment header of the entire text; in the Page-maker software, it can be used in conjunction with the "Tab" key; Freehand 5.0 and later versions can be used.
3. In Freehand, for a small amount of text that uses a Truetype font, convert the text to a path (more convenient for Freehand 5.0 and later) and realign. The disadvantage of this method is that after the text is converted into a path, the modification is very troublesome, and the edges of some big characters are not good.
4. In Pagemaker, try not to use the command line command and force command line. When English and Chinese are mixed, use manual adjustment of the word spacing to complete the alignment.

Sometimes in typesetting we will encounter the situation of simple and traditional mixing, at this time, due to the different description of the kerning between some fonts, causing the phenomenon of skipping. In the Freehand software, the Truetype font is converted to a path, and you can clearly see the word jumping. The way to deal with this situation is to cut the text in different places in the simplified Chinese character and treat it as two paragraphs.

The phenomenon of skipping will also appear when changing characters. When different fonts are used to replace the same type of font (such as Sino-Chinese Song Jian and Han Yizhong Song Jian), skipping is easy to occur and requires careful examination. While the replacement of different fonts in the same paragraph, the possibility of skipping words is much less, but still can not be taken lightly. Generally, the same type of Truetype word and Postscript word are interchangeable, and there will be no skipping phenomenon, such as Hanyi, Wending, etc. However, some characters, such as Huayuan characters, are not exactly the same in their descriptions of fonts, line spacing, and kerning in their Truetype and Postscript words. After swapping, there is a high probability of skipping characters.

In addition, when cross-platform production of documents, because many characters in the PC and MAC on the two platforms for font kerning, line spacing description is not the same, it is easy to cause jumping.

When using CorelDraw software to typeset, you need to pay attention to the fact that using a high version to open a file produced by a lower version is prone to skipping. When outputting a file, you need to check the file carefully.

Use Pagemaker software to create a file. If a file is created using a simplified version and the layout is used in the layout, when the file needs to be opened in the traditional version, the row name in the row will be garbled. In the traditional version, the traditional version will be garbled. When outputting a simplified version of a file, it is easy to encounter baffling Postscript errors and the output is interrupted.

Pagemaker software on the PC platform supports the placement of CorelDraw graphics files, but Pagemaker software running on the MAC platform does not support, so open the document on the MAC platform that is made by the Pagemaker software on the PC platform, including CorelDraw graphics, an error will occur .

There are two main types of text discoloration in the typesetting software: one is to convert the text into a path in Freehand 3.1 software. At this time, if the color of the text is different, the color will become the same after converting into a path. This situation no longer occurs in Freehand 5.0 and above; there is also a situation where certain fonts, such as black body, are used in CorelDraw software, the output may appear missing at the intersection of the strokes on the film, so be careful. , Before the output, the text is converted to a curve, check for leaks.

The last thing we need to introduce is how to insert the "inline chart" when the Pagemaker software arranges text. When you need to insert graphics in a line of text, you cannot place spaces in the text and place the graphic in spaces. This makes it easy to skip a word. When you make changes to the text, align the spaces and change the position of the graphic. Very inconvenient. Inserting graphics in text can be done as follows:

1. Place the graphic in a file and scale it to the desired size;
2. Cut the graphics (CUT);
