Hot food & water are not a luxury in the wilderness
--Gear Guy talks about wild stoves
Hot picnics and drinking water are indispensable elements for successful field exploration. If you agree with this point of view, then field stoves can easily become one of the most honorable members of your camping equipment.
Campfires in the early camps all use campfires, but the residues or traces of campfires can contaminate the camps, ruin the landscape, and cause fires. Campers are better off using special picnic stoves. For climbers, the importance of a high-quality climbing stove is even more important.
How to choose a stove Before choosing a stove, you first need to consider the following variables:
The weight of stoves, fuel compatibility, performance at low temperatures, windy conditions and high altitude, and the length of your journey.
Second, you need to determine whether you are a “foodie†or a “copper cookâ€. The former needs a stove with “precise flame control†performance, such as MSR's Dragonfly or Primus' Omni Fuel 3289, and the leader in this type of oven is Snow Peak's GIGA Power series. Use it for sticky rice and you don’t use it at all. Worry about the bottom of the pot; the latter may require “quickly boil the water†without worrying about the oven buzzing, then MSR’s XGK or Whisper Lite is a better choice.
The next thing to consider is the convenience factor. If you need a stove with reliable all conditions, and don't mind if it's bulky or not, then you should use a fuel oil stove; if the first requirement is light, then Gas stoves using gas tanks were selected. In summary, the advantages of gas furnaces are in terms of size, weight, and convenience; the advantages of oil furnaces are low temperature, high altitude use, and more economical fuel consumption and durability.
In the comprehensive determination of the performance of each section of the stove, MSR and Primus have their own quality evaluation charts. Taking MSR as an example, its assessment indicators are:
Boil time - 1 liter of water at 20 degrees Celsius to reach the boiling point of time the amount of water required to burn per unit of fuel - gas stove fuel unit is 8 ounces, oil furnace is 11 ounces of high altitude mountaineering performance in the performance of light and quick Performance and suitability of different forms of activities such as Backpacking\Alpine Climbing\International Trekking\Car Camping
In 9 MSR stoves, 8 Primus stoves, my recommendation is:
Weekend camping activities in surrounding mountainous areas of Beijing, personal stoves - MSR's "Little Rocket" Pocket Rocket and Primus's Micron Stove (In addition to the more lightweight SnowPeak's titanium folding stove); Team stove - MSR's Simmer Lite (light and economical oil stove).
Long-distance Trekking in remote areas - MSR's Dragonfly or Whisper Lite international.
High-altitude adventure activities, gas stoves - MSR WindPro and SuperFly Ascent (with heat reflectors, the shortest boiling time, only 2.7 minutes), oil furnace - Primus Omni Fuel 328984/85 and MSR XGK.
Many people linger between the three outstanding oil stoves of Dragonfly, XGK and Primus 3289, and I am more inclined to the latter two. I have used two Dragonfly (broken bottom solder joints are broken, this is the only obvious design flaw of this stove)
XGK is not handsome, but its performance in fuel compatibility and high altitude and extremely low temperature environment is superior to that of Dragonfly, available white gasoline, unleaded gasoline, kerosene, diesel, jet fuel, Jet 1-A. The disadvantage is that the rigid tubing is connected to the shaft. Inconvenient storage.
Primus OmniFuel 328984 and 328985 are excellent examples of similar products, with a rapid warm-up system, a more lightweight and durable fuel pump, can finely adjust the flame strength, in addition to a variety of fuel, you can also use gas tanks. Weight is slightly lighter than the XGK .
The above two types of stoves are designed for harsh environments and are all stoves with a wide range of fuel compatibility. If it is hard to compare the two, XGK is more "resisting" and 3289 can be used as a gas tank.
KOVEA's two cheap and practical gas stoves are widely welcomed by domestic mountain friends - Camp 3 and Camp 4 . Among them, the titanium furnace body of Camp 3 has strong thermal conductivity and can automatically heat the gas tank without adding a separate heat exchanger. If used properly, it can burn liquefied gas in a gas cylinder in a cold environment without leaving a residue.
If you are a guy who likes to play with "precision instruments," Snow Peak's GIGA Power GS-010 will surely hit you. This is a high-pressure oil stove, and only eat "fine grain" - No. 120 white gasoline. It has strict requirements on the internal pressure and warm-up time of the fuel bottle and must be meticulous. Otherwise, the working conditions will be poor and there will be a complicated pile of spare parts. This Fidelity Thing requires the operator to be quite patient and careful. If you can play it between the palms of your hand, you can probably create an "oil stove club" to introduce all the furnace experience.
How much fuel should I carry? For a standard gas tank, Coleman filled 220 grams of liquefied gas, MSR 227 grams, Snow Peak 250 grams, and more often 230 grams. The burning time of these tanks is usually 1 to 2 hours. Take the Pocket Rocket as an example, every 8 ounces (that is, a full tank of gas) can boil 16 liters of water at room temperature. According to this calculation, in the two-day camping activities in the spring, summer, and fall seasons, there is no extravagant picnic, and a gas tank is enough. In the summer when camping is simply boiling water, a gas tank is enough for two people for four days.
Carrying liquid fuel at room temperature, 3 ounces per person per day (89 ml); need to melt snow and ice, 6 oz per person per day (177 ml); extreme cold, at least 15 ounces per person per day (444 ml).
Fuel transportation issues In all kinds of transportation, combustible items are prohibited from being carried or checked. The fuel problem is best resolved at the destination. In order to avoid unnecessary trouble during the security check, the fuel in the bottle should be emptied before transporting, and then the bottle is washed with soap and dried.
Tattoo flash are prepared tattoo designs which are intended for use in rapid tattooing. Most visitors to tattoo shops have seen tattoo flash, as they are typically displayed in the walls and in portfolios to give customers an idea of the kind of work they can receive. Tattoo flash encompasses a wide range of styles and designs, and it can come from a variety of sources.
Originally, tattoo flash were designed by the artist, who would display
flash so that customers could pick a tattoo they wanted. Artists would
also modify flash or create custom pieces on request. Over time, artists
started trading flash with each other, and also also
selling tattooflash, disseminating styles and designs across a broad
community. Ultimately, companies started hiring tattoo flash designers, who produce a high volume of pieces for commercial sale on individual sheets or in books of collected tattoo flash.
Some people look down upon tattoo flash, arguing that while it's fine
to use flash for inspiration, tattoos really ought to be custom
designed, to create a unique and original piece. Copying from flash can
also have complex copyright implications; for example, a client who
prints out a piece from the Internet and asks to get it as
a tattoo might potentially be violating copyright laws, unless he or she
has been given explicit consent to use the work.
