Examples of failures due to PS plates in printing

The PS version plays an important role in printing. There are often problems related to the PS version due to printing machinery, technology, and materials.

1. Low print resistance

The reason why the printing plate is not tolerant of printing is very complicated: the developer is too thick, the development time is excessive, etc.; there are also PS body quality problems, such as improper proportioning of the sensitizer. The production and drying of the PS plate play a decisive role in improving the printing plate's resistance to printing. Only the data, standardization and standardization of drying can ensure the quality of platemaking and improve the printing plate's resistance to printing.

2. Non-graphical parts are dirty

(1) The chemical composition of the fountain solution is not properly configured. Solution: Replace the dampening solution.

(2) The roller sleeve of the plate roller is dirty or worn. Solution: Clean or replace the reel water sleeve.

(3) Excessive ink on the screen prints causes the ink to spread. Solution: Use thinner ink.

(4) Sandpaper with sandpaper remains on the blanket and wears the plate. Solution: Clean the blanket; add anti-accumulation agent to the fountain solution; adjust the amount of water to the minimum; reduce the pressure between the plate and the blanket.

(5) Aluminum oxide. The solution: During the plate making process, quickly dry the plate with cheesecloth.

(6) The water roller or ink roller is working incorrectly, resulting in dirty peripheral or axial movement. Solution: Adjust the pressure, cleanliness, geometric accuracy, and overall condition of each roll in the ink system.

(7) Pre-exposure (grayed) occurs in the pre-print stage of the plate. Solution: Save the plate in dark place.

(8) The ink is too soft or too oily. Solution: Adjust the ink formulation to suit the requirements.

(9) Problems with fountain solution. Excessive fountain solution. Solution: Control dampening fluid to reduce water supply.

3. The graphics are partially worn

The main reason is that there are too many resins in the fountain solution and too much acid in the fountain solution. Solution: Reconfigure the fountain solution and check the pH.

4. The graphic part is not ink

The main reason for this is that there are cured parts of the printing plate or the printing plate in the printing plate. The ink on the blanket, printing plate, and blanket is covered with ink that is too short or is immersed in water. Solution: Scrub the plate with a damp cloth to reduce the amount of water.

5. The ink on the plate is too slow

The main reason is that the thermosetting layer is too thick. Solution: Wash with phosphoric acid solution or plate cleaner.

6. The plate has scratches

The reason is that the outer layer of the paper roll before the machine has a small sand, or rely on the surface of the roller to have a small sand. The solution is to remove two or three layers of paper from the upper roll and thoroughly clean the blanket.

7. Plate cracking

The PS plate has cracks along the bend line at the end of the plate or plate. The main reason may be that the installation size of the printing plate is not correct and there is no uniform contact with the cylinder body.
